Project Description

 

The Boyton West Owners Association grew out of the efforts to close a dilapodated community swimming pool in the Kinjo Garden Apratments. Working together, the swimming pool was sold, a new fourplex apartment was built on the site, and funds from the sale of the land were used to improve the lighting on the streets, prune the trees, provide for debris dumpsters several times a year and several other projects.

Following this successful effort, several of the fourplex owners joined the Boyton Neighborhood Associatoin and the Colonials to improve the area west of Williams Road. Working with the Boyton Neighborhood Association taught us that united efforts resulted in successful changes. But, it also showed us that we had very different problems than most of the homeowners in the area. Fourplexs often have absentee owners and some owners who do not seem to care about the upkeep of the properties. Our new organization, the Boyton West Owners Association is working to get enough owners who do care to urge the others to take better care of their properties and learn enough about the apartment business to get and keep better tenants. We hope to substantially improve the neighborhood by concentrating our efforts on apartments.
